Seerenbach Falls

Highlight • Waterfall

In front of the falls is a viewpoint. But it's worth walking up. The path to get there is a bit muddy and the steps are high, but at the top you get much closer and can experience the falls better.

Neuenalpspitz

Highlight • Summit

The Neuenalpspitz is a 1816 m high mountain in the western Alpstein.
The ridge path to Neuenalpspitz is a really cool, craggy path, there are some exposed spots (difficulty T3 + / T4) and it is recommended to do this path in dry soil conditions. Personally, however, I imagined it to be more demanding or more exposed. In dry conditions, this ridge path is a lot of fun, hands are used a little and it is just a really cool, craggy path with the best view over the Toggenburg and the Alpstein.

On the ridge path you can walk up and down beautifully. However, it is a little easier in the direction from Gmeinenwies to the Neualpspitz than the other way round (difficulty in dry conditions T3 +).

Gamsalp

Highlight • Mountain Hut

For example, instead of hiking up the Gamserrugg, there is a great way to circumnavigate this mountain over the saddle (at 1944 m altitude) on its southwest corner, through great rock and flower landscapes on its south side down to Obersäss (1770 m), via Alti Hütte ( 1575 m) and Vorderstöcken (1440 m) to the Voralp (1217 m) with a mountain inn above the Voralpsee. Then it's uphill again to Gamperfin (1297 m), through the fascinating Gamperfin high moor up to Herti (1397 m) and Ölberg (1432 m), then via Schöntobel (1391 m) down to Oberdorf (1225 m). From there you can take the chairlift down to Wildhaus-Lisighaus. This circuit is 14.4 km long, 390 m uphill and 930 m downhill.

Betlis Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

Picturesquely located chapel with beautiful interior design. Originally built around 1300 on the lake shore, it was washed away around 1773 and only rebuilt at its current location in 1889 and restored in 2002. The chapel is dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

The Neuenalpspitz stands on the border between the former communities of Stein, today the political community of Nesslau, and Alt St. Johann, since 2010 the community of Wildhaus-Alt St. Johann. A marked hiking trail runs over it from the Winden Pass in the east to Alp Hoor in the south. The section between Windenpass and Neuenalpspitz includes easy climbing sections. 1816m Source Wikipedia

There are several benches on the sides of the chapel with either a view of the Seerenbach Falls or the Glarus Mountains, both beautiful.
