Stäuber Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

Great waterfall! There are one or two places to rest in the meadow to take a closer look at the waterfall.

For us the path was very steep and narrow. We were heading towards Musenalp on this "Chästrägerweg". I wrote an article about this: aufsehen.ch/niederrickenbach-musenalp-14-august-2022

Waterfalls Trail Below Fürenalp

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A top single track runs below the Fürenalp along the Aa. The river is fed by numerous smaller waterfalls. The trail runs right through there and with Karacho you can lawn through every waterfall, because the transitions are very shallow. This is great fun! 🚲🌬️💦 The subsoil is mainly gravel or slate. Even when wet, the stone offers a lot of grip. The gradient is moderate but steady and ensures a lot of flow. Mega recommended! 🤙🏻

It is surprising that this section of the trail only has to be created by me as a highlight in 2023. The mountain trail does not impress with breathtaking views but with an incredibly beautiful landscape - forests, pastures, blueberry meadows and waterfalls.

Before the hike, I was afraid that the proximity to the pass ascent would be very annoying - but the many streams drown out everything.

The path itself is very varied over almost its entire length and is also good for children to walk on. Uphill requires a bit of fitness.

If you don't want to walk back the same way, take bus line 162 between Hotel Steingletscher and the Gadmen-Obermaad campsite.

Firnbach Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

This point is secured with a chain. If the brook carries a lot of water it will of course be more difficult to pass this point ... but thanks to the chain it is somehow feasible, but then maybe with wet feet ;-).

Best time to visit: The waterfall is at its most impressive in spring and early summer when meltwater causes the water levels to swell. It is also at its best after rainfall.

Very nice to look at, but not as big as the name suggests😉

The terrain is rugged and steep, but with the exception of two short sections, the trail is in good shape and surprisingly pleasant. The two sections are located in the upper part of the rock face and are somewhat challenging (direction T3).
