The Penkkopf is a fantastic mountain tour with fantastic views in all directions. I would highly recommend it. From Kleinarl, expect the walk there and back to take around 5 hours.

With a bit of fitness, the Penkkopf can be easily reached from the Kleinarler Hut via hiking trail 712, even in winter. The all-round view of the snow-covered peaks rewards the effort.

Great hike, starting from the Aualm. The last part at the summit is a bit difficult, but with a little caution and concentration it is doable even for a flatlander like me 😉. The view at the top is unique!!!

We wanted to walk from the Schwarzkopf towards the Steinfeldspitze. However, the path is very demanding. That's why we're back and have made the Gamskogel. On the descent, we noticed the second path, towards the Steinfeldspitze. We walked this one too. Significantly better and not quite as demanding as the other one from Schwarzkopf. But there are some climbing passages. ☝️ A very nice view! We are then even further in the direction of Bärenstaffel. Also very beautiful and impressive with the 6 meter high summit cross!

On Schuhflicker Peak, you'll find the picturesque Schuhflickersee, a mountain lake notable for its constant water level without visible inflow or outflow. The peak also boasts unique flora and fauna due to its calcareous soil. On Lackenkogel, you can discover dark "Lacken" (pools), also known as "heaven's ponds," and observe peacefully grazing Scottish Highland cattle in the scenic Lackenalmen area.
