The highway is all paved and is 96.74 miles (155.69 km), so if someone is looking to do a one-way city ride, they could bus out to Hood River and ride all the way back to Portland, all on this one highway with great views of Mt. Hood, which reaches up 11,239 feet (3,425 meters) into the sky.
