Karren Viewing Platform

Highlight • Viewpoint

Anyone who's ever on the cart must necessarily walk the root path to the top of the Staufens. The rather challenging path runs through a beautiful mountain forest. As the name suggests, you have to climb over roots all the time, which makes the Wandering Spirit even more exciting and keeps you going. When I walked this trail, I wished the trail would never stop. But after a good 50 minutes, you are finally at the destination: the top of the Stauf. It is a rather low peak, but that does not mean that you have no view. On the contrary, from the top you have a fantastic view of the Rhine Valley and Lake Constance.
How to get to the root path: From the cart track mountain station you have to walk first direction Staufenspitze. At the second intersection, the root path is already on the trail sign turn off. After a few minutes, the turnoff comes, where the white-blue-white root path begins.

Hoher Freschen summit cross

Highlight • Summit

On the Hohe Freschen you can enjoy wonderful views and on the broad back there are enough opportunities to make yourself comfortable and let your gaze wander into the wonderful surroundings. Even with the technically very easy ascent from the Laterns side, the scenic surroundings offer many great views.

The approach from the other side via the Binnelgrat or Valüragrat, on the other hand, is only recommended for mountaineers who are experienced in the mountains and who do not suffer from vertigo.

Bocksberg summit (Vorarlberg)

Highlight • Summit

Alpine experience is not necessary for the Bocksberg-Steig, but a certain head for heights is. The white / blue marked path from Schuttannen to the Bocksberg is a very varied tour ... the path leads over beautiful narrow forest paths, over three iron ladders and a short, rocky passage to the Bocksberg, where you can enjoy a wonderful view. In the other direction, towards Ebnit, a red / white marked path leads down. So if you are not quite free from giddiness and still want to climb the Bocksberg, you can easily reach it on the way from Ebnit and descend on it again. The path is steep (so it won't be possible without drops of sweat; -)) ... but it has no exposed spots.

Wonderful view of Reinthal, Lake Constance, Vorarlberg, the Tyrolean Alps and the Alpstein.

The paths to the Staufenspitz are sometimes very demanding, so you should first find out carefully which path you want to take.

Bocksberg Trail and Summit Cross

Highlight (Segment) • Summit

Alpine experience is not necessary for the Bocksberg-Steig, but a certain lack of heights. The white / blue marked trail from Schuttannen to the Bocksberg is a very varied tour .... the path leads over beautiful narrow forest trails, three iron ladders and a short kraxlige rocky passage on the Bocksberg, where you can enjoy a magnificent view. In the other direction, towards Ebnit, a red / white marked path leads down. So if you are not quite free from giddiness and still want to go to Bocksberg, you can reach it well on the way from Ebnit and then descend on it again. The path is steep (without sweat it will not go here ;-)) .... but it has no exposed areas.

Fore-summit of Staufenspitz

Highlight • Summit

The way requires sure-footedness and a bit of a head for heels ..... but I imagined him much more demanding. He is well feasible and in the rocky games you have only very little scramble, the way leads past nicely. But if you enjoy it, you can of course also scramble directly over the rock :-).
