A farmhouse inhabited for many generations, surrounded by orchards and nestled within them – Christine Fischer's garden. Around 280 rose varieties, primarily heirloom varieties, ramblers, and wild roses, bloom annually around the farmsteads. My Paul's Himalayan Musk has conquered a mighty pear tree and is already stretching its tendrils to the next. But what would the queen be without her court? Countless varieties of clematis, alliums, rare perennials, and woody plants make up this. The result is a harmoniously colored, fragrant garden, whose charm you are cordially invited to enjoy. Opening hours: in June by appointment only. Contact: Dr. Christine Fischer, Edelsgrub 19, 8302 Nestelbach near Graz Telephone +43 650 3204903 Email: dr.christine.fischer@gmx.at Web: www.garten-lust.at

The chapel was built in 1887 in the neo-Gothic style. Mathias Kurz decided to build it at that time. However, he was unable to complete it alone, so the chapel was completed with the help of the farmers of Großfeiting. At that time, many decorative elements were omitted. The painter Theodor Depaul came from Wildon. Since 1919, a steel bell by Böhler has stood in the slender bell tower. After a storm in 1936, the roof and facade of the chapel were renovated. In 1992-1993, the entire drainage and interior design took place. In 2022-2023, a new roof structure and the entire tower renovation, a new facade and balcony, and the forecourt design will follow.

3 generations - family business The business is run by Maria Stockinger, Karin and Franz Absenger, together with the family, in the 3rd generation, with a lot of commitment and responsibility in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way of working. At an altitude of 400 meters, the climate here is perfect for letting tasty fruit ripen on our sunny slopes. Fruit has been cultivated here for decades. Around 100 years ago, vineyards still dominated the landscape around the house. And the wine press belonging to Waasen Castle was located on the farm. The philosophy behind it: "For years, we have managed to maintain the ecological balance of nature by avoiding herbicides." The farm shop is open all year round, Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.! In the newly designed sales room, many varieties in different price ranges will be offered all year round in the near future. You can buy fresh fruit here from Monday to Sunday - also self-service.

It is very pleasantly embedded in the quiet landscape - the house of silence and in front of it there is this resting place to pause and recharge your own batteries https://www.haus-der-stille.at/ The House of Silence has been a Franciscan community of women and men in Heiligenkreuz am Waasen in Styria since 1979. It was founded by the Franciscan Father Karl Maderner and supported by the "Haus der Stille" association. There are regular courses focusing on meditation, the Bible, Franciscan spirituality and peace. The community provides shelter for asylum seekers in its buildings. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haus_der_Stille_(Heiligenkreuz_am_Waasen)
