The Kofel was already revered by the Celts. The grotto trail below the Kofel is full of stone carvings, small caves with statues of Mary, and angel figures everywhere – in the moss, in the branches, in the rock crevices. A magical place.

Beautiful view from the path along the Ammer.

Downhill, we can say that it's rideable, with lots of roots and tight passage between trees. Uphill, no chance; you can only push the bike.

Climbed today in good weather (#33). A/B - more likely B. Beginners/inexperienced climbers should use a via ferrata set, also because there's a lot of oncoming traffic and you have to dodge. Please don't be careless! Steel cables throughout (no more chains), but also some greasy rocks - so it's best to avoid them in wet conditions. Today, while descending, I also encountered *unbelayed* children around 4-5 years old. Is that really necessary????? (You only have one life!)
