June 10, 2024, Luther Forest Mountain Biking Trails

The Luther Forest Mountain Biking Trails are a fun network of technical trails located in Malta, New York. These well-maintained trails cover a variety of terrain, including rolling hills, wooded areas, wooden bridges, and some technical sections. Luther Forest, however, dries out very quickly, so just be aware of the general weather conditions before heading out there. The main loop through Luther Forest is fun, flowy, and generally beginner friendly, and there are several other shorter trails that loop off of the main trail, which you can use to extend your ride or make it a bit more challenging. There is also fun, but short, Jump Line and play area to practice your skills.

Kalabus-Perry County Forest is an attractive, multi-use area that has an extensive trail system. Most of the trails are open for hikers and mountain bikers, save for main Kalabus-Perry Trail, which creates a ~3.5 mile figure-8 through the woods. The mountain bike trails have recently seen quite a bit of development and you can expect single tracks, bridges, seesaws, and balance beams over mostly flat terrain. There is also bike repair station right at the trail head if needed!

June 5, 2024, Carriage Road

This section of the popular Carriage Trail has a slight elevation gain through the attractive woods in the Daniels Road State Forest. You can combine this trail with several other trails including: Main, Ridge Line, Upper Canyon, Devil’s Den, and Backstretch trails - it's a great main artery through the Daniel Road State Forest (the trail is maintained the local Saratoga Mountain Bike Association!). As you ride along this pleasant section through oak and pine trees, be mindful of hikers, trail runners, and other users.

June 5, 2024, Main Loop

The Main Loop is a fun loop around Luther Forest in Malta, New York. There are some fast, quick turns and some flowy runs through the forest. On the western side of this area there are some trail closures because there are some new homes being built.

Maintained by the Saratoga Mountain Bike Association, the old-school, rough, rocky, and rooty trails offer a unique riding experience. Although the park doesn't have much elevation change, the short, punchy climbs will keep your heart pumping. If you're looking for a challenging ride, you've come to the right place!
