The former small town was located in a small valley between Kammern and Exing. The town has been "settled". The last six inhabitants were counted in 1961. An important salt road probably once passed through here. Today, all that remains is the church and not far from it an old wooden farmhouse, the Söldenhaus. The late Gothic church was probably built in the second half of the 15th century. It was a pilgrimage church dedicated to St. Veit. To the east of the church there was a three-sided farm until 1875/1876. A large cemetery and archaeological traces indicate that the town was once a respectable place. Nothing is known about the origins of the pilgrimage to St. Veit in Thomasbach and its end. Regular services have not been held there since 1913. The information comes in part from Reiner Vogel's booklet "Dark Stories from Lower Bavaria".
