The Church of St. Mary in the Valley (Maria im Tal) was probably built in its present form around 1690 and remodeled in the 18th century. However, it is likely that a much earlier predecessor building, possibly dating back to the Romanesque period, stood on this site. A boundary wall made of tuff stone, erected at the end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century, surrounds the church grounds. This church, situated on a slight rise in the center of the village, dominates the landscape of Untereglfing. Further information about this beautiful church can be found on Wikipedia at https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Maria_im_Tal_(Untereglfing).

At this location in Eglfing, there is a very impressive, restored 18th-century building, which was once called the "Russenhof" by the locals and is still partly called that today. This is because the farm was built by Josef Dichtl, a merchant and major banker at the court of Tsarina Catherine the Great (III) of Moscow-Petersburg, and his wife Eleonora Francaise. Since the couple had no descendants, the farm passed through various owners over the years until, finally, in 1970, the building was due for demolition. Following an advertisement in a local newspaper offering furnishings from the farm for sale, the farm was purchased four days (!!!) before its planned demolition by restorers Toni and Renate Mack, who had actually wanted to acquire some of the furnishings, thus saving it from demolition. Over time, they restored this very, very attractive farm and thus created an eye-catcher opposite the newly designed village square - a very attractive and striking building in the center of the village.

The small church "St. Afra" is located in the center of Spatzenhausen. It was built in this form in 1836, but there was probably an older church building on this site, as the tower is known to date from the end of the 17th century. The church is built in a hall style, as is typical for neo-Romanesque churches. Overall, a very beautiful and quiet place in the center of Spatzenhausen.
