It is a popular area for climbers and offers numerous routes of most difficulty levels. The rock quality is excellent. The routes are predominantly well-secured. The return to the starting points is via 2 x 20 m or 1 x 30 m abseils. Please abseil considerately in case of "oncoming traffic". The large Kandelfelsen can be reached via the Kandel summit. There are sufficient parking spaces available. Additionally, a bus runs from St. Peter to the Kandel. From the summit, it is approx. 20 minutes on foot, please wear good footwear, via the Damenweg (blue diamond) to the climbing area.

A very beautiful plateau, with the dwarf tower and well-situated places to stop. From here the view goes over the Feldberg over to the Kandel, far behind the Simonswald valley of the Wildern Gutach, to the almost distant Vosges.

An unexpected alpine highlight that should not be missed on the way to or from the Kandel. For experienced climbers, the crags can be climbed without equipment, the climber takes the steep wall on the valley side.
