Lienen has a charming village center with historic, lovingly restored half-timbered houses. Here you'll find the beautiful surroundings of the barefoot park, the village pond, the village square, and a rest area with a charging station. Here you have the opportunity to experience nature in the Teutoburg Forest—famous for the "Hermannsweg" (Hermann's Way)—as well as the idyllic Holperdorp Valley. To the south, picturesque Münsterland parkland stretches out, with hedgerows and cozy paths. In the park by the village pond, you can stroll along the paths, relax on one of the benches, or explore the barefoot park with its water playground and Kneipp water-treading basin. An outdoor chess set is available for all chess enthusiasts—you can borrow the pieces free of charge from the tourist information office during opening hours. And if you're traveling by bike, you can recharge your batteries at the rest area (don't forget your charging cable). . ... One highlight is the statue of a thrush (birdcatcher) that stands by the village pond.

Definitely worth a visit! The small pond with its fountain in the town center and the Kneipp water-treading basin are lovely. The buildings and restaurants are also beautiful. I was able to charge my e-bike, although it was a bit awkward. Is it okay to complain if the bike rack in front of the charging station is being used by regular bikes? I'm not sure 😅 But I managed to charge it by pushing it sideways. 😉
