Kaiseregg Summit

Highlight • Summit

The kicks and steps before the pass are worth it. Arrived on the Kaisereggpass you have a wonderful meadow and you can see the Bernese and Valais Alps for the first time. The Kaiseregg summit is now not far and the route is no longer very strenuous. Goal achieved :-)

Below us is the Kaisereggalp, from where you can get to Boltigen (past the two Walopseen).

La Berra summit

Highlight • Summit

The shortest ascent is via the La Berra cable car from La Roche. From the mountain station it is less than 90 meters in altitude to the summit with the pyramid, which is one of Switzerland's triangulation points (fixed points for measuring Switzerland). These 80 or so pyramids were built between 1884 and 1970. About 60 of them still exist today. They are also shown on the 25, 50 and 100,000 scale maps, with a triangle and a dot in the middle.

The Berra is also easily accessible from the Grau car park (accessible only in summer from Le Mouret) or from the Plasselbschlund. If you like it a little further, you can hike to the summit from the Schwarzsee via a high-altitude hike or from the charterhouse (monastery) of La Valsainte (municipality of Val-de-Charmey). The summit of La Berra can therefore be reached from completely different directions.

Mont Vully

Highlight • Summit

Mont Vully is the must-see summit on Lake Murten, with views on both sides, both towards the Jura and the Alps - weather permitting. The Vully also has a few other remarkable places to offer: the rock caves, the vineyards of course, but also the Helvetian fortifications and those from the "Reduit" era.

Le Moléson Summit

Highlight • Summit

We took the funicular and cable car to the top, and you are greater with an amazing view. It is an easy climb to the top of Le Moleson, and well worth the detour. The first part of the hike down is steep, with some loose rubble,. The route does get easier and then you are treated to lovely fresh smells whilst walking through the trees and the flowers are colourful.

Fuchses Schwyberg

Highlight • Summit

The marking is on the highest point of the Fuchses Schwyberg. Schwyberg is just the umbrella term for the entire range of hills from Plaffeien to Schwarzsee. The highest point of the Schwyberg (entire range of hills) is above Plaffeien near the Alp Gross Schwyberg at 1645m. The Schwarzsee is the highest point of Schwyberg at 1620m. The correct name would be Fuchses Schwyberg. If you go to the Fuchses Schwyberg in Schwarzsee, you usually only need the short form Schwyberg instead of Fuchses Schwyberg. There are a number of other Schwyberg names all over the hill range. E.g. Schatters Schwyberg, Hapferen Schwyberg, Schmutzes Schwyberg, Hooi Schwyberg, Gross Schwyberg, etc

June 2, 2025, Kaiseregg Summit

Unfortunately, the summit climb was difficult at the end of May due to the snow-covered Kaiseregg Pass. In spring, with persistent snow, it's only recommended for experienced and/or well-equipped hikers. Crampons and poles were a must for me!

Awesome approach from Sugiez, then a further descent via Lugnorre. The view of 2-3 lakes is fantastic!
