A beautiful town hall dating from the 1880s. It replaced the older building on the same site. A lovely ensemble with the church in the market square.

King Knud became very significant for Odense when he ruled the country from 1080-1086. Aelnoth's Chronicle from around 1120 tells the story of the king, who was murdered by rebellious peasants in Sct. Albani Church on July 10, 1086, during a turbulent period in the country's history. After his death, Knud was canonized and given the name Knud the Holy. His mortal remains are located in the crypt of the Cathedral, which also bears his name, Sct. Knuds Kirke. The bronze statue stands where the then Sct. Albani Church stood. The statue was a gift from Fyens Disconto Kasse in 1946. https://www.visitodense.de/turist/reiseplanung/statue-knud-der-heilige-gdk664346
