Whether you are in St. Goar, St. Goarshausen or on the ship on the Rhine. Burg Katz can be seen from everywhere and is a popular photo motif.

Behind the Loreley rock, which the Rhine encircles in a wide bend, lies the ruin of Katz Castle on a mountain spur shifting against the current. Little has been preserved of its original form: the tower lies in ruins, the ring walls have crumbled, and the still-standing rooms have undergone a violent transformation to become habitable; towards the Rhine, a glass veranda even had to be inserted into the age-grey walls.
