If you're planning to ride this route from south to north after autumn, be prepared for a wet experienceโ€”especially on a rainy day. The summit offers stunning, open views, but you'll need to tackle large, deep puddles that will likely leave your feet soaked. On the descent, expect a tricky combination of slick, leaf-covered rocks and a stream of water flowing down the trail, if heavy rain. It's a technical challenge, and even walking your bike can be risky on the slippery terrain.

Hard for the grade red downhill track. Drops and more await you as part of the finale to the classic Gwydir trails. Often ridden as part of a shorter ride "mini Marin".

Red grade. A short rocky section of singletrack. Easily repeatable by using the forest roads.

Blue grade MTB route. Rocky and technical in parts but never for very long. A good introduction to riding outside the trail centres.

A cosy small tearoom in Capel Curig. Incredible cakes, good coffee and light meals served by friendly staff. The garden outside is beautiful and full of bee friendly plants.
