This is a huge area of spectacular dunes, beach and forest. The sand dunes, formed over thousands of years, lie beyond the shoreline and provide important habitat for many species. Hiking and biking trails lead through the park and you can also swim.

This gravel trail was pretty nice. There is some vegetation in the middle of the trail, and my nephew did suffer from a very minor cut from it. Neosporin and a band-aid was all that was needed. It does seem that if it rains this trail may not drain well, and I would expect to see some flooding in some places.
