February 17, 2026, Reinstated Ford on Tilford Byway

Great work by Surrey County Council’s rights of way team sorting out what was previously a quagmire. Cobbled ford is fine to cycle through when river not too high otherwise there’s a decent footbridge. Note the massive step up to the bridge though for walkers with mobility concerns.

Just on the outskirts of the Frensham area, super quiet lanes around here, lovely to ride.

Beautiful village, can get pretty busy down by the river in the summer.

This is a nice well-kept wooden bridge spanning over the River Wey. There are no steps up to the bridge so you can cycle straight over, just be mindful of pedestrians.

Generally always a big puddle here, even in the height of summer - but it's passable with a little wooden bridge to the side.
