For centuries, there was only a "landing place" in Dierhagen am Bodden that was constantly changing because the water level of the Bodden was always different. It was not until 1887 that the port construction was completed after one year of construction. Now, in addition to fishing and freight transport, it was also possible to dock and handle passenger ships that had previously operated between Wustrow and Ribnitz. Probably the most famous motor ship at the time was "Onkel Fritz", which secured the scheduled service for many decades. The marina located on the right in the port area was built around 1982 on the initiative of the Dierhagen Anglers' Association under the direction of Walter Leu. The current "Boddenblick" restaurant was built in 1980 from a former farm building and was extensively renovated in 2009. In 2002, the port was also modernized using EU funding https://pages.ostseebad-dierhagen.de/de/ostseebad-dierhagen/streaming/detail/POI/p_100044103/hafen-dierhagen

The cycle path leads not far away, past the Ribnitzer See.

Thatched-roof houses (thatched timber-framed houses) are the traditional trademark of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula. They characterize historic fishing villages such as Born, Wieck, Prerow, Ahrenshoop, and Wustrow. What is special, however, is the interplay between the front garden, the door, and the house as a whole.

A round of Zeesboot sailing is very relaxing. But often the wind disappears, right in the middle.
