The Pioneer Republic "Wilhelm Pieck" on the Werbellinsee was the absolute flagship of GDR youth work. It was far more than a simple holiday camp - it was a "state within a state" for children, a prestige project of the SED and a place of international encounter. The complex was inaugurated on 16 July 1952 by Wilhelm Pieck himself. The model was the Soviet camp "Artek" on the Crimea.

A massive and beautiful complex. From the observation tower, you have a great panoramic view. In good weather, you can even see as far as Poland. Unfortunately, it's rarely open. Opening hours and further information can be found at https://www.biorama-projekt.org/

A very beautiful mammoth. Unfortunately, it stands there at the edge of the forest, a bit lost and squashed by the branches. It's meant to point to the Groß Ziethen Geopark. More information about the geopark can be found at https://www.schorfheide.de/region-schorfheide/geopark.html

From pioneer service to holiday camp. Children of the GDR once spent their time here. Today, the site is a holiday resort on Lake Weberlin. Various options are available at https://www.seezeit-resort.de/.

A very beautiful former mill. The sails have been missing for some time. The building was recently renovated and converted into a residential building. It is privately owned and therefore not open to the public.

Not only the view from the upper terrace overlooking the lake is worth seeing, but also the interior, which features, among other things, beautiful murals. Furthermore, fishing is depicted using various fishing implements.

A building absolutely worth seeing, both inside and out. The Kaiserbahnhof has been extensively renovated and refurbished. The old wall paintings have been partially restored and supplemented with historical images. Nowadays, the Kaiserbahnhof can be used for weddings and has a very beautiful wedding hall.
