Poor road surface between Gerstwalde and the L241: concrete slabs with asphalt on top. Better to take a detour with a road bike.

This stone village church truly stands out. It's unusually sturdy and so ideally situated in the small village that it offers excellent views from all sides. There are plenty of great photo opportunities!

The altar depicts scenes of the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, and the Ascension, as well as the Evangelists in shell niches.

The fieldstone church in Gerswalde is located directly on the market square in the village center. The church was built around 1250 on a hill within the village. A unique feature of the church is the checkerboard stone in the west gable, quite high above the portal. Besides the checkerboard stone, the church also features a sundial and "Feierabendsteine" (literally "evening stones"). These "Feierabendsteine" are the last bricks of the day, often decorated by the workers.
