The climb is punctuated with switchbacks as you make your way up toward Bergen Peak. The way down is a mix of forest and sweeping views out across the park. Descending the switchbacks is a ton of fun and the trails are just technical enough to keep you on your toes.

The park has a great variety of trails, between relatively flat and easy meadow paths to switchbacks up Bergen Peak through the forest. The trails also drain quite well and tend to not be too muddy after rain. The parking lot usually fills up by around 10 in the morning so arrive early!

This segment of the trail offers a gradual climb and can be a great place for spotting elk grazing in the fields!

Peaks to Plains Trail is a fairly new concrete multi-use path. The entire way is very scenic as you follow Clear Creek deep into the canyon. There are places to stop and view the canyon along the way, or even head down to the shore and take a dip into the clean water.

The trails through the meadow are beautiful and offer fantastic views out toward Bergen Peak. There is full sun on most of the trails, but here you get a nice shaded patch from which to enjoy the views.

This viewpoint offers a great place to take a water break before heading to the top, or a turnaround spot for those short on time!

This peak offers great views, but from a distance is hard to make out as it blends in with all the other peaks. Located at 9,708ft, this summit is a great warmup for a 14er!

Though fairly easy to reach, the Centennial Cone Park offers near backcountry experience with beautiful landscapes and small, winding trails. The loop all around Centennial Cone is pretty long, but net very steep.
