Nice quiet swimming spot. Seems to have been redesigned: the wooden jetty has been replaced by a small staircase into the water, and the benches are also different. As the lake is large, the water is always a bit cooler than in smaller lakes nearby.

The lake is about 170m wide and approx. 3km long. There is a well-marked circular hiking trail, five kilometers long, which however only leads along the shore on the almost one-kilometer-long lake promenade in the southwest.

If you're looking for a suitable option for cyclists to descend from the paved main path up in the forest to Liepnitzsee, this is the place for you. Elsewhere, it gets quite steep, narrow, sandy, and rooty! Plus, there's a fantastic view just before you reach the shore path and the lake. It's worth stopping in time.
