Consists of two areas on either side of Cabrillo Boulevard. Ocean Side: A narrow park adjacent to East Beach with an open grassy area and bike path from Stearns Wharf to East Beach and home of the Sunday Arts and Crafts Show. Mountain Side: This 10-acre area of the park features fountains, a lagoon and the Shipwreck Playground with areas for two- to 12-year-olds. The stage is home to Concerts in the Park, a free summer concert series run by the city. Indoor and outdoor spaces are popular rental locations for parties and weddings.

To be more comfortable in the springs it’s better to go in winter or in fall/spring, as the temperature will be more agreeable. This is also a popular spot and can be busy depending on the time of day, and is also frequented by night. Close to the springs, there are some view points where you have sweeping views out and over the ocean.

The Carpinteria Bluffs are now preserved as open space. The trail down to the bluffs leads through quiet, open meadows and a long row of stately eucalyptus trees. An easy trail along the bluff edge to the Chevron Oil Pier observe harbor seals on the beach. There is access to the beach just east of the pier, leading down to a long sandy beach where you can enjoy a mile of secluded walking down to Rincon Point. To the west you will need to walk through the Chevron parking lot to reach more of the Carp bluffs. These will lead you along a very pleasant set of overlooks and eventually down to the ocean's edge.
