Do not select as a destination. Entry onto the property is not permitted. The only view that could have been had from the street has been blocked by an ugly new building. A shame to keep such historically significant buildings away from the public.

What looks like a normal pasture between the hiking trail and the Langsee is actually a former lake terrace. Erosion processes such as wind, rain and waves have removed material from the former cliff (still visible west of the trail) and deposited it as a terrace in front of it. Due to the construction of a watermill in the 14th century, the water rose and the wide, flat area was flooded. In the 18th century, the water receded, the lake slowly took on its current shape and the formerly flooded area has been used as pastureland ever since, up to the present day.

Unfortunately, the building built in 1880 and its grounds can not be entered. Weitete Infos: see pictures. There is also an old ice cellar, which today serves as a bat quarters (see pictures). In addition, the "Rheinga horse" stands at the driveway. This artwork was created in 2006 as the "birthday" of Dresden. Why is it here? See pictures 🙂

This lake terrace was created by waves and erosion after the last ice age. A detailed explanation: see pictures.
