Great views into the Russian River estuary. Just before the Bridge on the south side is a store for resupply and food. The small Willow Creek Road before the bridge to the north follows the river's south side with great views and access to trails up the mountain.

As of today (11/11/23) signs have been put up prohibiting pedestrians and cycling. They're making progress on fixing the road. I shouldn't have done it but going back would've added 10 miles to my route so I walked my bike through anyway. It's rugged but safer, in my opinion, then trying to ride River Road just west of the Monte Rio intersection where the road is narrow, heavily traveled, and heavily shaded by big redwoods. No idea when they'll finally have the road repaired.

This beach is beautiful, with plenty of beachcombing, tide pools accessible at low tide and plenty of black sand. It is a perfect spot to watch the sunset and enjoy the views of the fantastic rock formations and the Pacific Ocean. The sound of the waves hitting the large rocks is very relaxing, making this spot a great place to take a break and spend quality time taking in the scenery.

This trailhead leads to an overlook at the top of the wooden stairs that lead down to Shell Beach. Parking is free; however, the lot fills up during peak season, so arriving early in the day is best. This spot marks the middle point of the Coastal Kortum hiking trail, which connects Blind Beach to the north and Wright's Beach to the south, paralleling the beach more closely than the highway in this area.

Moscow Road is great to bike instead of River Road as traffic stopped since it became a dead-end after the erosion of the bridge forced the road to close to cars a quarter mile past the campground.
