Completely overgrown on small forest paths. Only in a few places is anything recognizable from the manor building itself. Only in 2004 did the Rittergut Streithorst return to family ownership when Eberhard Clamor, a member of the second house of the Hünnefelder line, acquired it.

The Rittergut Streithorst was intended to secure the borderland against the counties of Tecklenburg and Oldenburg, which in turn also wanted to claim local territories. Initially, the Streithorst family lived here from 1304 onwards. The current building, however, dates from 1864 and is set back slightly, so it is not easily visible from the road. The Rittergut is today owned by a member of the noble family von Bussche-Hünnefeld.

✨ The village square in Langenberg is located in the Handorf-Langenberg district, which belongs to the municipality of Holdorf (Vechta district). Although the square is not always explicitly marked as a "village square" on maps, it is used by the village community as a central meeting place and event venue.

Streithorst Manor Remains of this castle still exist. The Streithorst manor was the ancestral seat of a family of the same name, first documented in 1304. In 1862, the old Streithorst manor house, a simple one-story structure, was demolished. A new manor house was built in 1864 using its stones and those of the Schweger manor house, which had also been demolished. The manor house was destroyed by fire in 1992. All that remains is a round sandstone Renaissance fountain.

But not all paths lead to the destination. Some side paths end in the middle of the moor, and further travel is only possible by mountain bike.
