The bridge crosses the Mittelland Canal directly in the area of the Sülfeld lock group. It is part of the historically significant Lehrter Bahn (Berlin–Lehrte main line) as well as the modern Hannover–Berlin high-speed line. As the lock marks the transition from the canal's summit level to the eastern section (lift height approx. 9 meters), the entire area is topographically and technically very demanding.

The Aller meanders very naturally through the city. Especially beautiful are the Aller meadows (Allerwiesen), which invite you to take long walks. If you like it sporty, the Aller cycle path (Aller-Radweg) is ideal – it leads you directly along the water through the varied landscape of the Südheide.

The St. Marien Church is the historical and architectural heart of Isenbüttel. If you start or end your bike tour at La Perla, you will almost inevitably pass it, as it is impossible to miss in the old town center. The most striking feature is the massive, medieval west tower made of quarry stone. It looks almost like a defensive tower and probably dates back to the 15th century. The current main building is significantly younger than the tower. It was rebuilt around 1872 to 1874 in the neo-Gothic style using brick, as the previous building had become too small for the growing community. The combination of the ancient, gray stone tower and the reddish brick nave gives the church a very characteristic appearance.
