Bollingerfähr Lock in Heede on the Dortmund-Ems Canal! This impressive lock system features two chambers and a weir. The old lock chamber, built in 1896, is 163 m long and 10 m wide. The modern lock chamber, completed in 1954, is even 2 m longer and 2 m wider. Both chambers allow a lifting height of 2.20 m. How to get to the lock: Leave Heede via Dörpener Straße and turn left onto Hunfelde Straße before the Ems Bridge. Follow Bollingerfähr Straße until you reach the locks. If you cross the bridge over the locks and keep right after the row of houses, you will reach the Heede Ems Weir.

Good place for photos. I gave the photo to friends and told them that the signs in Emsland are now all getting bigger for the visually impaired. Some people believed it.
