Excellent bike path parallel to the main road, which continues where the road ends for cars.

This bike and pedestrian bridge crosses the beautiful San Joaquin River and is separate from the old steel bridge. As you cross, you'll have fantastic views of the historic Mossdale Railroad Bridge, the old Manthey Road Bridge, and several other modern freeway bridges if you look to the south.

This road, a dead end for cars, is transformed into a dedicated smooth bike trail. There isn't any other vehicle access along the way, making for a safe route for cyclists that runs along the busy freeway.

The Tidewater Bikeway is a dedicated rail-to-trail route, named after the former Tidewater Southern Railroad that operated trains into Manteca as late as 1983. It runs through the middle of Manteca from Lathrop Road to Spreckels Avenue and is a flat, paved trail with an adjacent crushed gravel path for runners. It's an ideal alternative to avoid the busy traffic in the area, especially during peak hours.
