In the hills above southern Orange County, you’ll find an abundance of trails for hikers and mountain bikers alike in the San Juan Capistrano Recreational Trail System. One of the more popular trails because of its stunning views and flagpole at the end is Patriot Trail, which is also called the 'Rollercoaster Trail' because of the many ups and downs.

The Trabuco Creek Trail converges with the San Juan Creek Trail at Descanso Park and crosses to the west side of the river via a bridge. All of the creek trails are two lane paved paths.

This is a great connector trail between the Las Ramblas Trailhead and Patriot Hill. There are a pretty incredible number of trails converging in this area and it can be quite confusing, but the Patriot Hill Trail and Las Ramblas Trail are easily identified as they are much larger and wider paths.
