Starting from Waterloo you can follow the Grand River on excellent mixed surface biking/hiking trail. Once you get to the Kitchener area, trail is a bit more hilly and demanding, but noting crazy. Along the way you can find some restaurants and markets for your supplies. Enjoy and respect.

Beautiful hiking and biking trails along Conestogo river. Lush and green with easy access to the river for hot summer refreshment. The first part belongs to the famous TCT, Trans Canada Trail (The Great One) and it is gravel. The second part, Avon trail, is dirt and off-road with more difficult riding conditions.
