Will
March 20, 2026, East trailhead

There are two trails in the Egan Chutes Provincial park. This trailhead on the east side of the York River leads to the longer of the two trails, which skirts the eastern edge of the river. The trailhead is located on an unmarked logging road off Highway 28, just east of the York River bridge. There is a small gravel pull-out where you can park, and there are no bathrooms or services at the trailhead. The access road can be rough and unplowed in winter, but is easily accessible in other seasons.

Easy access to lake at the boat launch. It's easy to get close enough to the water to fill up water bottles without getting feet wet or taking shoes off. I found the water excellent even without use of filter or water purification tablets.
