June 9, 2025, View of Nærøydalen Valley from Stalheimskleiva

The Stalheimskleiva has been open to hikers and cyclists for a while now. Cycled up a few days ago, definitely worth it! It wasn't very busy, but given the gradient and the hikers I wouldn't cycle down the pass. You go up about as fast as the hikers and that's quite nice. Received enough encouragement in any case.

Fantastic road along the lake with some very nice views. Is quite up and down, but much better than cycling on the other side of the lake which is the main road with all the traffic.

Pretty cold when we were there in August :) However, perfect for jumping in after a sauna!

Even though this is the main road when travelling between Voss and Upsete, it is quiet, with few cars even during the busier season. You'll bike through small, charming farm towns alongside Raundalselvi River raging through a gorge below you. The river is well-known for hard-care white-water rafting and kayaking in the community, so you may even see some brave souls taking a go at the waterfalls. This stretch of the road is often tree-lined with stunning mountain views and a big nature feeling all the way.

September 16, 2023, Tvindefossen Waterfall

Depending on the water supply, an extremely impressive waterfall. On the bus tour in September we were lucky enough to be able to marvel at it once in the evening when it was raining and the next morning after a rainy night in the dry, and only those few hours of rain caused it to swell enormously, so there was no "Tvinde" anymore.

Relatively small town but has good accomodation options. Camping can be full so I recommend booking in advance.
