October 19, 2025, Bear Lake

It is located at the end of the scenic Bear Lake Road, one of the most popular areas of Rocky Mountain National Park. It lies at an elevation of approximately 2,880 meters (9,450 feet), surrounded by forest, offering impressive views of the majestic peaks of Hallett Peak. A very easy, paved Nature Trail (loop) leads around the lake in just about 0.6 miles (about 1 km).

Frank Sate Natural Area boasts several serene ponds and is an excellent spot for birdwatching. This picturesque section of the trail is beautiful year-round, offering a peaceful ride with trails winding through trees. It's usually very quiet with few visitors.

Mount Margret is a 7,946-foot mountain that stands above the scenic Red Feather Lakes. While the trail up is generally not technical, it's a very steady ride up, and a fun - but sometimes sandy - descent down. This summit is a great way to add some elevation to your day of riding around Red Feather Lakes.

May 30, 2024, Bingham Hill

Bingham Hill is a short, punchy climb that is a local favorite. The hill is located northwest of Fort Collins, just north of Horsetooth Reservoir, and features a steep, 1-mile climb with an elevation gain of approximately 250 feet. The gradient reaches close to 10%, making it a hard but rewarding climb. The area's rural setting, coupled with views of the foothills and the Rocky Mountains, provides a beautiful backdrop for the ride. Bingham Hill's proximity to other popular cycling routes in Fort Collins allows it to be easily incorporated into longer rides exploring the Horsetooth Reservoir, Rist Canyon, Bellevue and Laporte, and the surrounding area
