This monument was unveiled on September 20, 2014, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the crash. On September 18, 1944, an American B-24 bomber crashed near Heinkenszand. It was returning from dropping supplies for the 82nd Airborne Division, which had landed near Groesbeek the day before as part of Operation Market Garden. Two men died as a result of the crash, six were arrested and transported to POW camps in Germany and Poland, and two were able to hide—with the help of the local resistance group "Groep Griep"—until liberation. Twenty-year-old engineer T/Sgt Eugene (Gene) Kieras was in the rear of the aircraft when the bomb bay caught fire from flak. When the order was given to abandon the aircraft, he realized he was in danger. His parachute was in the front of the aircraft, and a fierce fire raged in the center. He decided to make a tandem jump and climbed onto the back of right flank gunner S/Sgt Benjamin (Ben) Brink. When the parachute opened, Gene couldn't hold on and fell to his death in the yard of the Molenhof farm at Stationsweg 5 in Heinkenszand. - De Vijf Gebroeders windmill is a corn mill dating from 1851. It is a round stone smock mill with a radius of 21.40 meters. The mill was built to replace the Noordmolen, which burned down two years earlier. De Vijf Gebroeders windmill remained in operation until the early 1960s.

Mill De Vijf Gebroeders is a flour mill from 1851 on the Stationsweg in Heinkenszand. It is a round stone mill with a radius of 21.40 meters. The mill was built to replace the Noordmolen that burned down two years earlier. The De Vijf Gebroeders mill remained in operation until the early 1960s and then fell into disrepair. Only restorations followed, the most recent of which was in 2005. The mill has been running regularly again since 2007.
