Nolhagaviken is a nature reserve in Alingsås parish in Alingsås municipality in Västergötland . The area is located 2 km west of Alingsås center and has been protected since 1993. It covers 51 hectares and is managed by Alingsås municipality. Nolhagaviken is the northeasternmost part of Lake Mjörn . The shallow nutrient-rich bottoms and the rich vegetation at the mouth of the Säveån river have created good conditions for a rich bird life. From the bird tower you can see both yellow wagtail , lapwing , great crested grebe , mallard , coot , reed warblers reed bunting and snipe . For many migratory birds, the bay is a resting place. The vegetation is dominated by species such as reedbeds , giant fescue , calamus and reed cattails . Within the area there are also lots of deciduous forest.
