Winding through ancient Douglas-fir, hemlock, cedar, and maple, with ferns, wildflowers in spring, and vibrant autumn hues, you are embraced by natures wonder. Beware of poison oak along Larison Cove's path.

Close to where you cross Goodman Creek via a log footbridge, just above the confluence with a small creek, a side trail near a campsite leads to a couple of charming small waterfalls. Keep in mind, the waterfall's presence depends on snow melt.

Located about 30 minutes outside of Eugene, the Carpenter Bypass Trail System provides nearly 20 miles of trails. You'll find a mix of trails that can accommodate most riders, and they're all accessible via Carpenter Bypass Road. The land is managed by the BLM and the Disciples of Dirt Mountain Bike Club (DOD) deserve thanks for doing a lot of the trail maintenance.

May 28, 2024, Ode to Joy

This is a fun downhill trail that's good for higher level intermediate riders and above. There are a number of mandatory features without any ride around options. If you find the first feature too challenging then it might be best to use the adjacent Mama Tried trail which is more flowy and less technical. Either way you'll have fun and because the trails are short you can session them to build your confidence.
