This hill isnโt in the Scottish Highlands, it isnโt part of the Cairngorms range. It doesnโt measure 1,081m (3457ft) You canโt see Ben Nevis, you might be able to see the southern part of the Cairngorms range on a good day. It is however a lovely hill in the Ochil Hills, measures 679m and is a subsidiary hill of Ben Cleuch, the highest in the Ochil Hills.

This hill in the Scottish Highlands is part of the Cairngorms range. It stands tall at 1,081 m (3457ft) and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area including the nearby Ben Nevis and the rugged terrain of the Cairngorms National Park. It's a great climb for those seeking a challenging terrain, and the bonus is Itโs a quieter peak compared to some of the more famous nearby mountains.

Bridge that goes from the parking directly to the castle is closed. (6-05-24) A detour via the entire Glenn is necessary, or via the motorway up. My advice. Be sure to walk down along the Glenn.

Having lifted our little dogs over the turnstiles around our walk we were pleasantly surprised to find this one that had a sliding piece of wood to allow small dogs through the turnstile rather than having to lift them.

The path is washed out for around ten metres but with good scrambling skills and care can be passed ๐

If you are looking for a peaceful retreat to enjoy nature, you might want to visit Gartmorn Dam Country Park and Nature Reserve near Sauchie. It is the oldest reservoir in Scotland and covers an area of 370 acres. You can walk, cycle, horse ride or fish around the 170 acre reservoir, which has fine views over Clackmannanshire and the Firth of Forth. You can also spot red squirrels and migratory wildfowl in the park, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The dam was built by Sir John Erskine, the 6th Earl of Mar, in 1700 to power the pumps for his coal mines. It also provided water for Alloa's industrial development, especially the breweries. There is a cafe, free parking and wheelchair access at the park.
