This is a nice neighborhood park with all the essential amenities including a playground, tennis and basketball courts, and a picnic area. Also, the Rocky Creek and American Tobacco Trail intersect here so you can go for a good long walk from here as well.

The maintained walking trail ends right about here. Although some people make a complete loop out of their walk, that recommends walking across the dam and climbing a fence that is marked for restricted access. Not recommended. Instead, you'll need to hike back the way you came — another opportunity to see wetlands.

This small campsite on the edge of the water is a great turn around point (or just a rest stop) for your run. There are wide open views onto the lake from the shore. The entirety of the Falls Lake Trail in this area offers views of the reservoir.
