Hape Kerkeling, a well-known entertainer in the German-speaking world, wrote down some thoughts about a mystical experience (encounter with God) while traveling through Spain, which I would also like to offer to the viewer of this small sacred monument on the Matagalls: "To encounter God, one must first extend an invitation to him, for he will not come uninvited. It is also a form of good manners. We have free choice. He builds an individual relationship with each person. Only someone who truly loves is capable of this." (Hape Kerkeling in "Ich bin dann mal weg")

It is a spectacular 6.7 km climb, with spectacular ramps and a narrow road, very well preserved, very winding, drawing all kinds of curves until reaching the Sanctuary. The 360 panoramic views are wonderful: Montseny, flat Vic, the Pyrenees, the sea. You can not ask for much more. I recommend climbing it on a day with good weather to enjoy the views. With the bike you have to reach the entrance of the chapel, overcoming a narrow, concreted and steep final ramp. Don't hesitate and go to the top. It is located between the Coll de Gomara and the Alto de Santa Fe del Montseny. It is a beautiful area with very wide panoramic views of the province of Girona. On its southern slope, there is hardly any difficulty since it is reached by descending from the top of Santa Fe and with a short final climb of 1 km. On the other hand, on its northern slope it is very hard, with almost 2.5 km at 7.7% on average, and a first initial straight when taking a detour at the Coll de Gomara of 11%.
