A NATURAL RESERVE Nestled in the heart of the Ardennes, Lake Bairon, with an area of 120 hectares, consists of two ponds separated by a dike: the old pond and its reed bed, formed into a nature reserve, and a water reservoir intended for water activities. Today, the Ardennes Departmental Council coordinates the development and promotion of the site. A PLACE OF RELAXATION Hiking trails, playgrounds and a sandy beach invite you to relax and feel well-being. The site welcomes 200,000 people a year, including more than 40,000 swimmers who enjoy the lake. Learn about the most extensive water sports: canoeing, windsurfing... Also enjoy the 5000m2 beach and the pleasures of swimming. This summer there will be supervision every afternoon from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., from June 15 to August 28. Please note that in view of the deterioration of the water quality of Lake Bairon and in consultation with the Regional Health Service, swimming and water activities at Lake Bairon are prohibited until further notice. Likewise, it is recommended that fishermen do not consume the fish they catch. Source: https://www.vnf.fr/vnf/points-d-interetss/reservoir-du-bairon/
