On the way back, after Point 4, there is a large segment over private land. No access allowed. On the way back, the route goes over private land where walking is not allowed. We were turned back by the landowner and were not allowed to continue on his property (from point 4 to 5 on the route)! We had to walk about 6 km extra to get to the starting point (A)!

Most trails in the Sperrins follow a mix of well-defined forest paths, gravel tracks, and open hillside routes. After rain, some of the open mountain sections can become boggy and wet, so waterproof hiking boots are strongly recommended. The forest trails, like those in Iniscarn Forest, generally offer more shelter and firmer ground.
Dogs are generally welcome on the trails, but they should be kept on a leash, especially on open hillsides. This is important because the Sperrins is an active farming area with grazing sheep. Always be mindful of livestock and local signage regarding dogs.
For experienced hikers seeking a challenge, the region offers at least one route designated as difficult. These hikes typically involve significant elevation gain, longer distances, and potentially challenging navigation across open mountain terrain. Proper gear and experience in hillwalking are essential for these tougher treks.
