If this is referring to the national cycle 45 past Avebury, it's simply to muddy and uneven for long distance cycle touring on a gravel bike.

Avebury is one of the largest prehistoric stone circles in the world. Unlike many other stone monuments, here you can walk among the massive stones and experience the special atmosphere up close. The site was created about 4,500 years ago and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

These ruins are known as the "Sham Ruin" or "The Folly" and was purposed built to look like a ruined castle to block views of neighboring houses and enhance the landscape. Built around 1797–1798 by architect John Nash, despite its intentionally precarious, ruined appearance—specifically the, large stones balanced at an angle—it is a solid, substantial 60-foot-high wall.

Stunning Duck Pond in the equally beautiful (and very sleepy) village of Alderton. The ducks have nesting boxes & are free to come & go as they please. You can't go "in." As such, there's a fence around the pond & nest boxes, but it was lush to watch the array of ducks for a while!!

A nice ride beside the river. Suspect it gets busy with walkers in good weather.
