An easy gentle walk in the woods which in hotter weather is cooler. Safe, slippery when wet in parts. Full of chirping birdlife. At the end there is a welcome silver tubed caravan serving coffees, cakes and quick meals. A welcome retreat.

Absolutely. For a shorter, accessible outing, the Looe Clock Tower – View of West Looe loop from West Looe is a great option. It's a gentle walk of about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) along the river, perfect for all ages.
Yes, the area is generally dog-friendly. The woodlands and riverside paths offer excellent terrain for walking with dogs. However, you may encounter livestock in fields, so it's important to keep your dog on a lead where required.
Many of the best routes are loops. A good example is the Hiking loop from West Looe. This 2.7-mile (4.3 km) trail offers a varied walk that brings you back to your starting point without retracing your steps.
The Duloe Stone Circle is a unique Bronze Age monument made of eight large quartz stones. It's a fascinating historical site and is easily accessible. Many local footpaths pass by or near the circle, making it a popular point of interest to include on a walk.
Yes, the region is known for its beautiful ancient woodlands. Kilminorth Woods, one of the largest valley oaklands in Cornwall, has numerous paths. The trails here are sheltered and peaceful, offering a chance to see a variety of flora and fauna.
Duloe is located just a few miles inland from the coast. You can hike down the West Looe Valley to the town of Looe, which sits directly on the South West Coast Path. From there, you can head east or west for dramatic coastal scenery and more challenging hikes.
The trails are quite varied. You'll find everything from paved lanes to natural woodland paths. Some sections, particularly in the river valleys and woods, can be muddy and uneven, especially after rain, so sturdy, waterproof footwear is recommended.
For walks starting in Looe, there are several public car parks available. If you're starting a walk from Duloe village itself, you'll find some on-street parking, but it's best to be considerate of residents. Some trailheads, like those for woodland walks, may have small, dedicated parking areas.
While the immediate Duloe area is known more for its rivers and woods, the impressive Golitha Falls are a short drive away. These beautiful cascades on the River Fowey are a popular attraction and have their own network of woodland walking trails.
