The best MTB trails around Dosrius

Located in the heart of the old town of Dosrius, this church has a much more curious history than it appears. Although the current building was constructed from 1526, a temple already existed in this location during the Middle Ages. One of its most surprising stories occurred during the Civil War. The church was looted, its altars destroyed, and the building converted into a warehouse for grain, seeds, and straw. A magnificent 16th-century Renaissance altarpiece was lost, but the curious thing is that, many years later, researchers managed to identify seven original paintings that had survived. Four are preserved in the Mataró Museum and three in the church itself. There are more curiosities: formerly, families could pay to have their own pew inside the church. And above the vaults, there is a space known as "the owls' room," where an old manual mechanism for raising and lowering the central lamp is still preserved. If you can go inside, also look at the floor: there is a funerary tombstone from 1776 belonging to the Vallmajor family, one of the most important in the town.

Sant Andreu del Far Església de nau única orientada de llevant a ponent, amb absis de planta poligonal, amb contraforts laterals i a les arestes. Té dues capelles laterals adossades, a manera de creuer. La nau és coberta amb tres voltes per aresta gòtica, amb nervis de pedra granítica, i totes les claus de volta estan esculpides, igual que les mènsules d’arrencada dels nervis, les quals representen caps humans. La coberta de la nau és de teula àrab a dues vessants, acabades amb una senzilla imbricació de teula i maó. Del s.XVII. Construcció cilíndrica, limitada amb gruixuts murs de paredat que tenien la funció de mantenir la temperatura constant. Coberta amb volta de pedra de mitja taronja i teula àrab amb ràfec. Al costat nord hi ha tres contraforts de paredat i la boca de sortida del gel. Aquest es feia en un passadís-mina, que va desaparèixer en ser remodelat l’entorn i el camí. It has an archaeological curiosity that is not always clearly explained, and I'm not making this up; it is documented as an artificially built granite block and is related to the Chalcolithic or Megalithic period between 2200 and 1800 BC, which suggests that it is not just a rock with a hole but could have been a prehistoric burial chamber where burials or funerary rituals were performed in prehistory.

An ancient watchtower with a Roman base and medieval structure, perched at an altitude of 416 meters, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline and the Vallès region. Built to monitor roads and warn of dangers, it was converted into a hunting lodge in 1906, with the addition of a kitchen and bedrooms. Later, it fell into disrepair, was vandalized, and was restored in 2011. Today, it is open to the public and a popular stop for cyclists due to its strategic location, shade, and natural viewpoint. The base retains Roman ashlar blocks, making it an archaeological rarity in the heart of the mountains.

Located about 6 km from Llinars del Vallès and at an altitude of 406 meters, the hermitage of Sant Sebastià offers beautiful views, shade, and a picnic area, making it an ideal stop along the way. Documented since 1640, it lay in ruins until 2016 when a group of volunteers began its reconstruction, which was faithfully completed in 2018. The hermitage, measuring 10 x 5 meters, was notable for its bell gable, voussoir archway, and granite blocks. Traditionally, gatherings were held there in honor of Saint Sebastian, protector against the plague and storms. Small stones found in the surrounding area were believed to bring good luck and protection.
