The building was designed by Ramón Campello Martinez. When he became a widower, he went to Cuba and returned to Foia in 1919. That same year, he bought the land and built the house as a residence in 1921, in the style of Indian colonial aesthetics. With a rectangular floor plan and an atypical east orientation, it has four floors. Notable features include the two side towers with their polychrome glass, the recesses with pointed or triangular finials in the Neo-Mudéjar style, and the tile decoration with plant motifs. Of course, the tip of the rooster flag, which gave the house its name and the nickname of its owner, "El Gall," is also worth noting. In 2002, the building was acquired by the Juntament d'Elx and restored in 2005.
