The Ermita del Calvario in Cabeza del Buey is a very special place of worship, located on top of a hill. This hermitage offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The route to the hermitage begins on Calle Oriente and winds along the slope of the Sierra del Pedregoso. Along the way, there are 14 crosses that symbolize the stops that Jesus made while carrying the cross before being crucified. The hermitage, built in the 18th century by the Gante family, has recently been restored and houses simple but beautiful paintings inside.

One of the monumental towns of the Sierra de Córdoba, which has several examples of architecture of great importance. Among them, the Castillo de los Sotomayor y Zúñiga stands out in the Gothic-military style, built in the 15th century. Thanks to its impressive Renaissance-style keep, it is the highest castle in the entire Iberian Peninsula.

Sebastián de Belalcázar, founder of the colonial city of Quito, in Ecuador, was from this city. Its landscape is dominated by its imposing castle, but the old town houses other architectural jewels that are also worth visiting.

Construction of the XV century also known as Castillo de Gahete because that was the previous name of the town in which it is located. But the beauty of its fortress ended up changing the name. The keep is amazing, disproportionate with its 47 m height, which makes it the tallest of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula. Despite its degree of protection, it is not in a very good state of conservation.

The Hermitage of Calvario is located on the cliff of the Majada de la Peña that flanks the entire valley of the town of Cabeza del Buey. The panoramic views of the town and the Cabeza de la Alamgrera are amazing and worthy of postcards.
