July 12, 2026, Stalen Brug Over Het Wilhelminakanaal

The current Laarbrug is an iron bridge on a concrete base and was placed in September 1947. Previously, there was a high concrete bridge, built in 1932, which was blown up on May 11, 1940, when the Dutch army retreated. The Wilhelminakanaal is the first Dutch canal named after a queen and dates from the beginning of the last century. Construction began in 1910 and in 1923 the entire Wilhelminakanaal was opened for shipping.

Special castle in a place where you don't expect it. Suddenly it stands there majestically in the meadows!

Beautiful view of the disused post mill from the mid-17th century, which was restored in 1960.

A beautiful, car-free road along the Wilhelmina Canal. Beautiful views over the water. This way, you avoid the boring cycle path along the main road through Beek en Donk.

A lovely country road. The only drawback is that there's no proper cycle path on this side of the canal. It's incredibly narrow, and the path is overgrown with nettles and thorns.

Free swimming in this public lake that is also supervised by the volunteer lifeguards. Very busy in good weather.
