Klein Helgoland in Bremervörde is an idyllic, historically characterized area on the Oberoste, near the city center and the harbor. It is above all a popular meeting point. Starting point for canoe tours and a scenically attractive resting place for cyclists and hikers. The historical origin, the name dates back to the time of mussel fishermen and peat cutters. The young people joked back then that they had almost sailed to Helgoland when they met at the landing stage after finishing work. The Oberoste is natural and unstraightened here. The area around Klein Helgoland serves as an idyllic entry point for canoes and rowing boats, as motorboats are not allowed upstream from the weir. This section is also very popular with anglers. It is precisely defined as the zone between the weir and the harbor. Corresponding fishing areas and access prohibitions are written down on the permit of the FSV Bremervörde. A visit is recommended and interesting 👍

Sunder Seenplatte, a great cycling and hiking route runs along here amidst beautiful nature. A great excursion area, a free parking lot is available and there is also a bus stop directly at the parking lot. Different hiking trails can be enjoyed here depending on how many kilometers you want to cover. The nature here is wonderfully beautiful to behold 💚. A nature trail has been created and the facility was renovated in 2025. The paths can also be cycled. It would be better to push the bike directly by the lake.
